The Winters Audio Experience

Well, this is a classic British brand with one of their best duos ever. 'The ten and the four' are literally a marriage made in heaven. SME have had a hugely successful career with their turntables and tone arms, building exquisite precision machines that are a delight to use and listen to. For us, this table and arm is a great allrounder. It's precise and transparent, and very neutral without any extra bloom and warmth – probably a function of its almost plinthless design. It's got great timing and digs out lots of detail.

The big question is though, is it worth investing in this pre-owned duo rather than buying new? Well yes – absolutely. There's no worries about parts or servicing with anything made by SME, it's got style and intricate engineering all in the name of extracting information from your records, and it's likely to retain its value too – these are sought after pieces for sure.
