About The ATALANTE 5

ATALANTE 5 is a reflex-loaded, three-way speaker of medium proportions. It uses Revival Audio's in-house 28mm soft-dome tweeter, 75mm soft-dome midrange driver and 30cm bass driver. The tweeter and midrange dome both benefit from ARID (Anti Reflection Inner Dome) technology and specialized back-chamber design to lower rear energy intermodulation and standing waves. The woofer employs Revival Audio's BSC (Basalt Sandwich Construction), to deliver the best balance between rigidity, low-weight and damping.

A true full range design that delivers down to 28Hz. This bass capability, allied with the midrange insight that comes from using a dedicated midrange driver, ensures even the biggest performances matain seamless authority and realism. The top-end has control and sparkle, with Revival Audio's anti-resonance components ensuring clarity and openess right through the upper-mid and treble.

The ATALANTE 5 always produces an incredible listening experience with any genre of music you care to play. Best suited to medium and large rooms where they can be allowed to get into their stride, these speakers create a wall of rich sound populated with precise images. But there is abuntant tonal correctness and finesse too. Quite simply they deliver a truly great allround listening experience.

Tech Insight

ARID (Anti Resonance Inner Dome) technology really elevates the performance of the Revival Audio tweeters and midrange drivers. The space behind domes can suffer from severe intermodulation but the ARID device, which is mounted  in the space behind the acoustic dome, ensures that rearward firing energy is randomly diffused away from the dome and standing waves are prevented.

Matching & Setup

The ATALANTE 5 is a strong speaker, capable of a full-range presentation. It is transparent too, without being overly forward, so good source component quality will be well rewarded. This speaker's 89dB sensitivity is considered around average but the 4 Ohm impedance should be noted as that might not best match solid state amps below about 50 Watts. However, a good 30 Watt valve amp with output taps set to 4 Ohms can be a great match.

Best suited to medium/large size rooms, these speakers benefit from placement a little out from room boundaries – or maybe quite far out in certain rooms, where imaging and balance may be best served. However, they are not overly fussy and for a full-range design are relatively room friendly. In larger rooms they are best driven by amplification of 100-200W. Mounting on low stands gives the best height when seated and we recommend the matching Revival Audio stands.
